Anita Ondine

Transmedia Creator & Consultant

ANITA ONDINE is a transmedia creator and consultant, with a passion for exploring new possibilities in both the creative and business aspects of transmedia storytelling. Prior to working in the creative industries, Anita was Senior Vice President at a major global investment bank, performing a number of roles including business and operational risk management. Anita is also a qualified intellectual property and technology lawyer with over a decade of experience in complex global transactions. Anita now combines her knowledge of law and finance to create innovative business models for transmedia experiences, where an entire integrated story world is created and the story plays out over multiple media platforms and provides opportunities for audience participation in the storytelling experience.

Anita’s artistic roots stem from a childhood spent among artists and activists, where storytelling took multiple forms including painting, writing, dance, photography and filmmaking. Anita’s background, fused with a love of technology, make transmedia a natural tool for storytelling in the digital age. Anita is a vocal advocate of the power and potential that transmedia provides and has a specific interest in using transmedia as a tool for social change. She is currently spearheading a groundbreaking transmedia activist campaign in addition to developing an ARG-style transmedia franchise in collaboration with a major European broadcaster and producing “Pandemic” the global transmedia experience for Lance Weiler’s next feature film “HiM”. A short film Anita produced from the "Pandemic" story world is screening at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

Anita regularly delivers keynote speeches and masterclasses, as well as instructing and mentoring at venues such as the Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam, the Cannes International Film Festival, the Rotterdam Cinemart and the Pusan International Film Festival. Anita is Course Director and co-founder of the EU MEDIA funded “Transmedia Next“ training series. Originally from Tasmania, Anita spent the majority of her professional career working internationally and is very much looking forward to working with Australian artists and filmmakers to tell Australian stories in innovative ways to reach a global audience.
